    Cats Vs. Christmas trees.

I am surprised that the cat is not trying to climb the tree.

Yeah, this is EXACTLY what my cat-murdering pack of dogs would like to find under the tree! What fun!(sigh…..cause I really wish I COULD keep a few living cats around…..). And then when they’d finished “opening up” their present(yuck!), they’d hike their legs(at least the boys would) on the tree! Merry Xmas!…..L.B.

    Sweet picture JP.

One Christmas I couldn’t find my cats after I put the tree up. I eventually found them hidden up inside the tree! They were kittens so this was their first tree.

I guess you just happen to have a cat that doesn’t like to climb trees?

Old age and for many of my female cats hyperthyroidism has reduced my “pride” from four to just one old girl cat that “knock on wood” hasn’t developed symptoms of thyroid disease. I had hoped to get another female kitten from the shelter by now. Hopefully in the next thirty days I will do that as my one cat could use a companion.

Fröhliche Weihnachten und Frohes neues Jahr

Depends on the cat’s personality whether the tree remains intact. 😀

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

A blessed Christmas to you and yours and a healthy, happy New Year!
My Ragdoll Himalayan’s favorite place was laying under the tree. He is gone now, and I miss him very much, but I can still picture him under it. Your picture brings back fond memories.

I wonder if there’s really an elk in this picture. Frohe Weihnachten, dear Sir, to you and your loved ones.

    From the Sporting blog.

Anxiously I sit, nestled atop my lofty perch as morning breaks, lighter, lighter, brighter still . . .

Obscure forms and objects take shape before me, clearer, clearer, sharper still . . .

The air is cold and crisp, the forest floor afrost, but in my stillness I find warmth, still, stiller, stiller, still. . .

Still I wait, still I look, still I listen.

Leaves rhythmically trickle from the treetops, windswept they flit and flutter as downward they fall, settling onto the forest floor.

Still they drop, still they fall, weeping from the sky above.

Still I wait, still I look, still I listen.

The sun kisses at my back and copper beams illuminate the ground beneath me, the forest floor is lit aflame, fiery, fiery, fiery still . . .

Slender shadows elongate before me, silhouettes stretching, further, further, reaching still . . .

Still I wait, still I look, still I listen.

The hours pass by, the forest grows quiet, quiet, quiet, calmer still . . .

Shadows grow short, their length now lessening, shorter, shorter, shorter still . . .

Now content, no longer looking, no longer listening, one with this moment, scenery and surrounding draws me in, immersing me deeper, deeper, deeper still . . .

I’ll linger til the shadows once again lengthen.

God thank you for keeping me company when the deer do not.

Funny, none of our cats ever climbed the tree. They loved being underneath it, surrounded by the boxes but they were all good kitties. As a kid we had a tradition that after we opened our gifts we put the opened boxes back under the tree instead of taking them away to our rooms. The cats would inevitably make beds in them and that seemed to satisfy them.

A merry and blessed Christmas; Pour Anita: joyeux Noël

    Don’t you mean, “purr-fect”?

My internet access is my phone, and sometimes, which appears random, when I start to type in the comment box on this site, the “submit” button disappears. Type a single character, submit button disappears, backspace to remove single character, submit button reappears. It’s like the submit button is doing its Dr. Evil impression: “I gotta whole bag of ‘tsch!’ with your name on it!”
