Mr. Parker congrats you have a normal house around the holidays! We Canucks actually do that too around Thanksgiving but we do ours in October. Just think Mr Parker that Christmas is coming!!! Another turkey perhaps? I know we will

Yep. Any seasonal foods where the main course is something big enough to last a while. Where I live the biggie is the Christmas ham. Literally, if you buy the traditional, whole ham. Can hardly wait… well, it really does taste good, about the first two days.
Working on any new novels? Come on, some hints? Just a teeny bit of a hint?

No Thanksgiving here in Australia and turkey is not as big (literally) here for Christmas either. Although, it is up there these days, but I think the winner over here is roast pork with a side order of prawns. Neither on my Christmas list. When I was a kid, a roast chicken was a big deal for Christmas. Not many leftovers from a roast chicken or two, when the family shows up. My resolution after Christmas is, just to never eat again, but somehow I do.
Hope you had a good holiday.

Thanksgiving is not celebrated in Australia but the turkey does play a big part in many people’s traditional Christmas Day lunch. The funny thing is that our Christmas recipe books/magazines invariably focus more on what to do with the leftover turkey (turkey pasta/lasagne, turkey fritters, turkey sandwiches, turkey salads etc etc) than on how to cook the turkey itself. This is not surprising considering that the average Christmas Day temperature in most parts of Australia can be around 30C degrees. In recent years however, there has been a noticeable shift towards eating seafood in addition to or instead of, the traditional turkey, hams etc. Barbecued snapper and prawns washed down with a chilled wine or beer…much more sensible…and not a leftover in sight!!
