Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone!

This web site and its blog have been up and running for a year now (a touch over a year, if you want to be persnickety) and I thank all of you who have taken the time to read and comment and buy books. My primary goal has been to entertain, and I hope I’ve achieved that. Certainly, I am always delighted to get feedback, agreeing with me or arguing with me, either way.

My resolution for the New Year is to start posting more visual images. It took me a while to master (ha!) the steps, but I have started, and for those of you who are curious, if you go to A Man With a Tight Mouth, under Other Writings, you will see a photograph of Mackie I took for a short profile I wrote about him for a hunting magazine a couple of years ago. Since my photographic skills are right up there with my skills at performing brain surgery with a drill press and a belt sander, I’m rather proud of that photo; Mackie actually looks like a recognizable member of the human race, and I didn’t cut off any critical portion of his anatomy (something I almost certainly would have done with a drill press and a belt sander).

I wish all of you health and happiness. Be safe.

A happy new Year to you and your Family and Friends, too!
I do have to say your Blog is very entertaining and I really do enjoy your writings.
But it is kinda hard to get a hand on your Books in Germany though.I do prefer the good old Book in my hands, which is made out of paper…… ;-) call me old fashioned if you like.I did manage to get ‘ An Accidental Cowboy ‘ ordering it in my mother-in-laws Name, she lives in Idaho, and have her send it to me as soon as she received it.By the Way,that’s how I did it with some of the movies you are in and also the simon&simon DVDs ,which you cannot get in Germany either.
Thanks again for your Blog and please keep on writing.

Believe me, Mr Parker, the pleasure has been all ours…and on a personal level, I’d like thank you for brightening up an otherwise difficult year.

I wish you, Darleen and the readers of this blog all the very best for 2013.

PS. And don’t worry, even those of us with a reasonable amount of photographic experience have been known to produce more than our fair share of dodgy and dubious photos… ;)

I bin needin’ a bit o’ brain surgery(I’m told….) and, from my ecomomic status, I don’t mind(ahem) not goin’ with a top-o-the-line surgeon–so, how much you charge if’n I provide the drill press and belt sander?….L.B.

This is a nice photo.Good photographed by the rules of photography knowingly or unknowingly ;-)
Even better, I find it that the friendship between Gerald and you over the years has held.Nothing is as ephemeral as friendship.“True friends you can not buy, because they come by themselves and are priceless.“
